I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and a Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR trained clinician. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.I have provided one-on-one and group counselling services at various non-profit and for-profit agencies, including Vancouver Coastal Health, DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, Cameray Child and Family Services, and the TELUS Health-Mental Health Centre of Excellence. As well, I have provided counseling training and supervision to counsellors and teachers in Nepal. I have also previously worked in non-profit settlement services helping to support newcomers to Canada

Therapeutic Approach

I deeply value collaborating closely with folks to support them in their journey and growth. My approach is warm, trauma-sensitive and empathic, and I am honored to hold space for you as we work together to navigate the challenges you may be facing. I specialize in:

  • Working with folks who have difficulty voicing or understanding what they are feeling and thinking.
  • Helping others to become more mindful and gain insight about why they do what they do and deepening their connection to themselves and others.
  • Supporting others in learning emotion regulation skills, especially folks who do not feel safe/comfortable in their bodies, struggle with an inner critic or feel lost in intense feelings of rejection, inadequacy, anger, frustration, sadness, shame, hurt, grief, anxiety, numbness and fear.
  • Providing support to others who want to connect with others but are unsure how

Because of my previous experience working with immigrants, families and trauma across the life-span, I also have a particular expertise in working with folks struggling with anxiety (eg. performance anxiety, phobia, panic, generalized anxiety etc), perfectionism, depression, emotional dysregulation, or stress that may be further complicated by past or current family dynamics, cross-cultural differences, life transitions, or trauma (eg. childhood traumas, intergenerational traumas, relational traumas, PTSD and more)

If you think we might be a good fit, I invite you to send me an email or give me a call. Thank you, and I look forward to connecting with you!
